School: Standards Covered
Hatching chicks in the classroom is not just fun but also educational! Here are some examples of standards that can be covered by this project. These standards are based on the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Standards.
- Science Standards: We use NC DPI standards for second grade.
2.L.1 Understand animal life cycles.
2.L.1.1 Summarize the life cycle of animals including:
2.L.1.2 Compare life cycles of different animals such as, but not limited to, mealworms, ladybugs, crickets, guppies or frogs.
